Small Hands, Big Dreams

Hi friends! OK, so here's the deal. I'm on the committee for an upcoming fundraising event, benefiting the Children's Safety Center. This is an unbelievable organization and this is their premiere event! It's called "Small Hands, Big Dreams" and is going to be held on September 12 (the Friday before the Texas game-away) from 7-11 p.m. The tickets are $50 and include heavy appetizers, drinks and music by BOOM KINETIC (formerly known as Molten Lava- so fun!). So far, there is a great turnout. I think it's going to be a blast!

So, let me tell you what the Children's Safety Center is: The CSC comes in as the advocate for children who are victims of any kind of abuse, most commonly sexual. Children are taken to the safety center where they are greeted with bright colors and a warm play place. There are also rooms with double sided mirrors and dolls for children to show the "what and where" of the crime. So sad. Then, there is another room where the medical examination is performed. The CSC would like to hire a psychologist to have on staff for these children to have a more complete experience before they leave the center. The mental health of these children has to be damaged after an experience like this. Please help us reach this goal! Just post a comment if you'd like a ticket or two... or three:) and I'll contact you to work out the details of collecting money. I'll deliver your tickets. Also, if you're out of town, it's a great excuse to come on in!
